Bondhon: Youth Against Drugs & for Social Harmony

About This Project

Bondhon is an anti-drug initiative by Songjog Foundation that addresses drug abuse and social disharmony among vulnerable youth. It emphasizes strengthening social bonds and providing purpose as key solutions to addiction and conflict.

Fostering Resilience, Connection, and a Drug-Free Future

The core mission of the Bondhon project is to offer young people hope, purpose, and a path to self-reliance by strengthening their internal resilience and their connection to the community. We aim to:

Prevent Drug Abuse

Deliver targeted education and awareness to empower youth to make responsible, informed decisions regarding substance abuse.

Build Social Harmony

Promote empathy, understanding, and collaboration across diverse social groups to reduce tension and build a united community.

Empower Youth Leadership

Cultivate strong leadership and communication skills, enabling participants to become influential peer mentors and advocates.

Develop Positive Engagement

Provide constructive alternatives to drug use through engaging sports, cultural, and community service activities.

Program Activities and Approach

The program's activities are tailored to the developmental needs of youth aged 13–25:

Drug Prevention & Education

Interactive anti-drug workshops, personal storytelling sessions, and facts-based education on addiction's root causes.

Leadership & Advocacy

Training on public speaking, conflict resolution, advocacy skills, and organizing awareness events.

Social Harmony & Inclusion

Joint cultural festivals, community service projects, and inter-group sports leagues.

Rehabilitation & Counseling  

Provision of individual and group counseling, and direct referrals to professional rehabilitation services.  

Positive Youth Development

By engaging in sports and cultural activities, youth channel their energy positively, developing purpose and self-esteem.

Reduced Drug Prevalence

 The program contributes to a long-term reduction in drug use and addiction rates within the target communities.

Strengthened Social Fabric

The focus on social harmony leads to reduced inter-group friction, greater empathy, and a more united, resilient community structure.
