‘Songjog Booth’ stands beside Sitakunda fire victims

Songjog Connecting People Foundation has stood beside the injured people of the fire incident at BM Container Depot in Chattogrm’s Sitakunda.

From the very beginning of the incident, ‘Songjog Booth’ supplied necessary medicine, food, emergency ambulance service and health safety kit to the victims in front of Chittagong Medical College from dawn to dusk for four days consecutively. Jalal Ahmed, the founding president of Songjog Connecting People, said, “As soon as the news broke out that explosions and fire occurred in a container depot, the Songjog Amulance departed Dhaka for Sitakunda. Besides supplying medicine, oximeter, health safety kit, free ambulance service, food for the injured patients and their attendants, Songjog also managed the blood for the victims.”

Songjog Chittagong team leader Golam Kader Murad, neatly run and managed the tasks of Songjog Booth and supply service. He said, “At present, we are having patient inquiries on a daily basis.  Beside that we are conducting a survey by which Songjog Foundation planning to bring the disabled and jobless victims under our initiatives.”

The volunteers who are working hard behind the project include Nayeem Talukder, Sheikh Oli Ahmed Roni, Sanjida Sultana, Muntasir, Rabiul Hussain, Khalid Saifullah, Mehedi, Md. Mizan, Md sifat and many more.

Songjog was founded in 2020 to serve the general people of Bangladesh in their need. During the disastrous period of the epidemic, Covid -19, songjog has secured oxygen service 24/7 in 54 districts throughout the country.  They had 1200 oxygen cylinder and they build up “Oxijog” application for this service. Recently, Songjog has started free ambulance service for poor and marginal people.

  Till now more than one million people has come under the services of Songjog Foundation in one way or another in their need.
