About This Project

Songjog Foundation combats lead pollution in Bangladesh by identifying toxic sources, educating communities, and protecting children’s brain health.

The Challenge

Bangladesh is facing a silent national crisis. As the 4th most lead-polluted country in the world, over 36 million of our children suffer from toxic levels of lead exposure. This invisible poison is lurking in our food (adulterated spices), household paints, aluminum cookware, and unregulated industrial sites. The result? Permanent cognitive decline (reduced IQ), heart disease, and an estimated 7-9% loss in national GDP.

Our Mission

The 'Awareness on Lead Pollution & Its Remedies' project is a strategic initiative by Songjog Foundation to identify lead sources, educate vulnerable communities, and advocate for lead-free supply chains. We aim to bridge the gap between scientific research and grassroots action.

Key Objectives

Community Activation

Conducting workshops in pollution hotspots like Savar and Nabinagar to educate families on identifying hidden lead sources.

Capacity Building

Training a dedicated network of volunteers and students to act as "Lead-Free Ambassadors."

Public Health Advocacy

Promoting the use of certified lead-free spices, paints, and safe cookware through data-driven campaigns.

Source Mapping

Collaborating with experts to highlight the dangers of unregulated battery recycling and industrial waste management.

Our Impact

Through targeted workshops, university campus activations, and community engagements, Songjog Foundation is directly empowering families and vulnerable community members to make safer choices. By addressing lead pollution today, we are securing the intellectual potential and physical well-being of the leaders of tomorrow.

"A healthy mind is the foundation of a prosperous nation. Join Songjog Foundation in our mission to build a Lead-Free Bangladesh."
