About This Project

Empowering Digital Rights & Accountability: Building an Inclusive Digital Democracy for the Visually Impaired and Persons with Disabilities in Bangladesh.

"Inclusion is not a favor; it is a fundamental democratic right." As Bangladesh rapidly transitions into a digital society, this project empowers youth with disabilities to shift from passive technology users to active "Digital Watchdogs" ensuring no citizen is left behind in the digital civic space.

The Challenge

Bangladesh’s rapid digital transformation has shifted critical public services, education, and civic participation online. However, a significant barrier remains: most national websites and digital platforms do not comply with international accessibility standards like WCAG (Web Content Accessibility Guidelines).

This oversight systematically excludes citizens with visual, hearing, physical, or cognitive disabilities from accessing their civic rights and holding institutions accountable. Furthermore, youth with disabilities rarely receive the structured training required to actively participate in or monitor digital governance processes.
